Nancy O'Dell's initial position in the broadcasting industry was as a reporter/anchor at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She later became a morning news anchor and crime report at WCBD TV. While in Charleston O'Dell's reports about the relaxed approach police take towards DUI cases caused a State Law Enforcement Division investigation that led to state authorities re-issuing the strictest guidelines regarding the situations. Ms. O'Dell was honored by her colleagues at the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year award for all media in South Carolina. O'Dell was then employed by the Miami-based station of NBC WTVJ-TV as an investigative reporter, before she joined Access Hollywood in the role of co-anchor for the weekend. O'Dell is the anchor of choice at Access Hollywood. In addition she has contributed to NBC News Today and Dateline NBC. She's reported on major occasions like The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards in addition to hosting the Pre ShowArrivals shows at The Emmys. Co-hosted The Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
